Peanut is an elderly dog who was an owner surrender in North Carolina. At the shelter it was discovered she had heart worm. The Tortorella Foundation found a rescue in Ohio– Stop the Suffering — and with the help of a transport and a temporary foster got Peanut to Ohio to safety.

Her Ohio foster family regularly cares for animals who need heart worm treatment. With the sponsorship of The Tortorella Foundation, Peanut was treated and has made a full recovery! And she managed to make her foster family fall so in love with her they became her forever family.

If it was not for the quick response at Stop The Suffering and their willingness to treat her heart worm properly, who knows what would have become of Peanut.
